Re: How\'s easy is this river bet?
[ QUOTE ]
Not in a million years am I folding to a raise. Villain most likely has AK or KQ. [/ QUOTE ] Doesn't this make check/call the way to go? EDIT: The only additional hand to these that seems reasonable is KJ. Maybe bet/call is better... |

Re: How\'s easy is this river bet?

[ QUOTE ] Maybe I have "monsters under the bed" syndrome, but I think you're either winning 0 or losing 2 with a bet here (1 if you fold to a raise). I don't understand why this wouldn't be a check/call; as a check could easily induce a bluff, and it would be an easy call. [/ QUOTE ] The thinking is that a hand like AK or KQ may check this through on this board but call a value bet from Hero. [/ QUOTE ] I guess I didn't read the entire hand carefully enough. The more I look at it, AK seems like a pretty good guess. |

Re: How\'s easy is this river bet?
[ QUOTE ]
KQ [/ QUOTE ] Bingo.. I answered Nick's question re folding to quickly. I immediately decided I didn't like it. Pot was too big too fold. The more I thought about it the less I liked it. I would have called the raise at the time, but it would probably make me feel icky. I'm now more certain that it would be correct to call it. My single biggest leak is missing value bets on the river. So I'm trying to overcome this. I wasn't too sure about the bet at first (I held my breath and fired), but I figured the likely range of holdings that had a jack were small enough to warrant it (I wasn't worried about him holding the ignorant end). |
