Default Re: Folding KK preflop

I've folded KK pre-flop a few times, and called a few times when I wish I hadn't. Basically, it depends on the texture of the game, but people generally don't get into raising wars with QQ or AK.

There isn't anything intrinsically wrong with folding a hand if you are certain you are beat, be it KK or 2-7o. I'm sure most players that post here have folded this hand when they were convinced that they were behind, I did last week, I thought at the time I was right and am still convinced that was the case.

I think that most people that disagree with your fold have a problem with ditching in this particular scenario, IE against a drunk guy. If I was playing someone who I thought was drunk I would have a massive propensity to call. Was he drunk the other times you played him, IE when he was weak and passive? Or was he weak and passive when he was sober? Had you seen him make limit raises before, and when you had, did it tend to be with the holy grail or just with 'good' hands? If you are happy that you made the right decision, then that is all that counts. I am sure that if he plays in the game regularly you will eventually get confirmation of whether you were correct by what he turns over next time he plays a hand this way.
