Oh yeah, the games during the week are often just fine. If your table is too tight, just get a table change. Plenty of games going every weeknight. Like Shant indicated, Thursdays seem to be a bit easier(and busier). I guess its an end of the week factor.
There is nothing like the feeling of sleeping in all day until 5pm or so and then strolling into Commerce at 8pm or so and knowing that you are going to rape all the addicted slobs who have been laboring at work all day and are now stuck, tired, and emotional. Put a few of them on tilt, and you will have fun raking in money all night long. |

What stakes? Day or night? [/ QUOTE ] Andy, I'm heading down on Wednesday (two days from now) and staying until Friday (we're driving to Vegas on Friday, although I'm not sure if we are going to leave in the morning or stay at Commerce to play for a while and leave later in the day). I'm planning to play 20/40. The games will be good? Is there another limit slightly lower or higher that tends to be softer than 20/40? From what people say, it sounds like the games there are always good, but this is my first time there so I'm wondering what to expect. Thanks. |

I have heard from numerous people that the 9/18 is a great game. I haven't played in it yet, but next time I go I am going to.

If you can afford $15-30 or $20-40 don't bother with the $9-18. $9-18 drops $4 per hand + $1 jackpot. $15-30 and $20-40 charge $8 or $9 per half hour and you get free food. The higher limits are generally loose as $9-18, although slightly more irrationally aggressive. You will see players that raise preflop with hands like K10o, Axo, and Q9s in early position as well as three and four bet these hands

I've heard some people say that the 20/40 is softer than the 15/30. Is this true? Is there a jackpot drop in those games as well as in the smaller games? I'm excited about the free food.

Difference between $15-30 and $20-40.
It can vary. $20-40 is a 4 chip game so sometimes there can be the appearance of more action, when there really is not. I would put your name on both lists and just kinda scope out the action. If you get a seat right away, just spend the first 30 minutes or so(free anyway) checking out the surrounding tables and don't play a lot of hands. If the table sucks, then change tables or change limits. If all the tables suck, and it is early, go play in one of the tournament sattelites or have a beer or something, and come back in an hour or so. No jackpot at these games. But Commerce jackpots are so crappy anyway that you could win as much as a jackpot with a really good night at $20-40 or $30-60. |

Unless it's changed (again) in the past two weeks or so, the 15-30 and above games also use a drop (but not jackpot) rather than a time charge. 20-40 tends to be looser than 15-30, and there will be 2-3x as many 20-40 games going as 15-30 at any given time.

[/ QUOTE ] It seems to me that at most LA casinos there are some limits that are very often looser then others. 20/40 is softer then 15/30 40/80 is softer then 30/60 9/18 is always insanely soft. |
