I'd fold QJs for sure. 87s would depend on how bad everyone else in the hand was but I'd likely fold that, too. 22, on the other hand...

Poker stove gave the following calculations:

7s7d = 49%
Ah2h = 22%
5h4h = 16%
Ac8c = 13%

Most likely, you are at best around even money here. I would fold.

Interesting calculation if the set is removed from the hand. The 2 pair goes from the worst to the best and your 5h4h is still the worst hand.

Ah2h = 25%
5h4h = 17 %
Ac2c = 58%

That's too narrow of a range of hands to put him on.

If you're even money but getting 2 to 1 odds, that sure sounds good.

This is why I fold preflop and save myself the trouble.

Ditto.

To me, playing big draws are about folding equity as well as chance of winning. You could be drawing to as few as 4 outs here. If you could push first, no brainer. Since someone else has pushed you have to give them credit for a hand that at least has a chance of beating yours, given that UTG has already expressed strength, a complete bluff in this situation is unlikely. Top pair and a flush draw? Top pair and a gut shot? Set or two pair? It's hard to tell. I think that without the folding equity, I'd lay this down.

I agree with Adanthar and others that I wouldn't have paid a tenth of my stack to see a flop with a low suited connector in this spot, even on the button. Better spots to spend your money, and the blinds aren't that dangerous at the moment. This is a point in the tourney where I want every chip I can have backing up my PF blind steals or doubling up with my made hands, not being spent on draws.

37offsuit hit the essence of the thread. Add a 15 or 20% chance of your opponent folding to your 50% chance of hitting the flush + gut draw and sliding very well could be the play to make.. . you knew that when you titled your post .. except someone else beat you to it. I think you have too many chips left to call the all in when you are a flip at best.

nice fold, even though I'm guessing that UTG called the slide w/two pair, the cards were turned over, the slider had a set, and you got to see a heart hit on the river for the non-flush that would have won you a big pot, hence the reason for the post.

how did the rest of the tourney play out?

I read a big bet at an Ace as a protection bet from a EP pre-flop raiser..unless you think he'll make same bet regardless of holding.
I don't like the 54h
even if you make your flush, you're going for the bottom...so any other flush draws have you beat--your str8 is a gut-shot.
Id'a folded pre-flop myself--but I think you may have a better shot later.
