Re: \"So...What did you have?\"
A twist on the "you could/should have called" is to offer to let them call now...."pay me the $x (whatever last bet was) and I'll tell you".

Re: \"So...What did you have?\"
Happenned just the other night......again. The people really pressing had folded to my flop raise, while others folded to my river ckeck/raise. I gave my standard answer "call next time and you'll know".

Re: \"So...What did you have?\"
I have never understood why people even bother to ask this question. They have to know that 90% of the time they are getting a bs answer.

Re: \"So...What did you have?\"
My favorite line is "I had a pocket set" and I actually get people that ask me..."top set?"

Re: \"So...What did you have?\"
"I don't remember" usually works.

Re: \"So...What did you have?\"
I've found that the best answer to this question is to just give an answer that is not possible. It keeps the mood very friendly and at the same time lets them know you arent going to tell the truth. Like on a board of A J 8 5 2, I would say that I had quad Aces or broadway.

Re: \"So...What did you have?\"
I like to make up fake VVP-style nicknames and say "Ole Yeller bit me again" or "I had Timmy and Lassie" -people usually just pretend that they know what I'm talking about rather than continue questioning me.
