\"So...What did you have?\"
What's the best way to handle this situation? Lately (B&M), there has been an increase in the frequency of people asking me this question...right after the hand, a couple hands later (ie. "what did you have that hand when the ace hit the river?"). Mind you, this even comes from people who weren't even in the hand!!
Every once in a while I don't mind, but lately it's been getting on my last nerve. My impulse is to tell the guy to stick it up his a$$, but I don't want to come off looking like a jerk. So my question is this: How can I put the person asking "in their place" without looking like a complete jerk and spoiling the mood of the table? |

Re: \"So...What did you have?\"
If I don't want to say my stock respones are..
"I don't remember." "If you wanted to know you should have called." |

Re: \"So...What did you have?\"
I usually respond "I had you beat."
If the questioning persist I either make up a hand or tell the player to pay next time. |

Re: \"So...What did you have?\"
i would say in normal friendly way (not a snide smart ass way), "what did you think i had?", after they tell you what they thought, tell em they were right, or tell them you had "much better than that". if "much better than that" creates further quesitoning, tell em you had the nuts.

Re: \"So...What did you have?\"
I tell them whatever will make them play worse against me later. If telling a guy I bluffed him out of the pot will put him on tilt, that's what I say. If I think I can get him to lay down more in the future by telling him I had the nuts, I say that. If I think the guy will understand, I just look him in the eye and say "You know, I really don't remember"-- this is no good against non-competitive players but people who understand the game will get that you just don't want to tell them and (more often than not) will respect that.

Re: \"So...What did you have?\"
Pocket jacks.
It does not matter what happened, it is always pocket jacks. I told a guy once that i had pocket jacks when there were 3 jacks on the board. It is always pocket jacks. Rick Diesel |

Re: \"So...What did you have?\"
There are two correct answers. Either ask them what they think you had and say you're right to whatever they say or tell them you had pocket jokers.
