Coltrane,

I'm still not saying it would've worked, but rather offering a counter-line specific to this situation based on range of hands opponent could hold on the flop - as opposed to speaking in generalizations.....

I hear yah, and to a certain extent agree w/you. Its just a can't put any super rock on any hand except AA or KK there with the third raise. I would have opted for the Preflop fold, Cause I don't want to get 1/4 of my stack in , out of position where I can put him on 1 of 2 hands, KK a lot less likely since our hero holds it. I have to dump it there. Well, I don't have to but cold calling is not fun, pushing lets him make no mistake (i.e. fold QQ, KK and stomp you with Aces) Tough hand for limon, classic example of a tell swaying your good judgement.

seems like awhile back you did about the same thing. old tight men just call the two raises with anything but aces or sometimes kings. there is your answer.

Totally agree with Zee. Easy fold preflop here.

Funny thing is a while back I was totally lambasted for folding QQ in this same type circumstance. Yet I knew my opponent had AA PRECISELY (rock old mans older brother).

Fortunately the guy with JJ called him and I was proven correct in my thinking. But there never was any doubt. And I had committed a MUCH higher % of my stack preflop.

The key here seems to be "I convince myself".

Try this: pretend its someone else doing the thinking. Really, it works.

hard to say, at the table we were at there was no room for anything fancy. abc poker was getting the money against a sea of very weak players.
