I have to agree. I understand asking for a small collection to help out with cards and stuff, but I dont like the idea of a rake.

If its a big game, that could get alittle attention from the PoPo. Instead of makeing a rake, just invite bad players.

a rake at a home game is illegal if the house is taking a cut. If its just for food and [censored], just make everyone poney up before the game starts. We do a jackpot at my home game, but that goes to the high hand of the night, and it works pretty well for our game. I would refuse to play a home game with a house rake though, completely absurd.

Yeah, a strictly home game should never have a rake. Now, a poker "club" is a different story. They usually charge an insane rake.

When I play in my home game at my place, its strictly to have fun. No rake. Ever. The money I win are my earnings, I think raking from your friends is a horrible thing to do.
