VPIP = voluntarily put $ in pot. This is (roughly) percentage of flops seen less percentage of flops seen for free in the big blind. I say roughly because of hands which you bet but do not see a flop for some reason (like every else folds).

ah!!! that seems to be a much more accurate number than just the % seeing the flop.
