Re: Standard Preflop raise in SNGs
Most people I believe use 3x BB + (2x BB * #limpers). In the earlier rounds several people also use a higher standard raise, say 5x BB.

Re: Button Folded
You're not really defending it here. Minraising pretty much guarantees you'll get a call here and doesn't really send him a message your bb is not going to be taken every time it's checked to him. ...

Re: AQ hits low straight.... comments on play?
I can't see myself as playing to win this hand though. Anybody with a 6 will likely call the turn here letting any ace think his straight is good and lead out again assuming he is not too smart. ...

Re: worst beat u ever put on someone else?
Early in a SNG several limpers to me on the button with KQs on stars. Flop came KQx and checked to CO who bet pot. I raised, he reraised all in and I called. He tabled KK... Turn Q river Q.

[ QUOTE ]
Irie, my question was based more on the fact that only the top three advance. #4 repeats, the chip leader was in the big blind. I pushed he pushed. Unfortuneately I didn't improve...

Re: AK vs. AQ on the button with limpers
Playing like you have AK and actually having it are pretty different. In the situation you describe you could really play any two cards like AK if you think they'll act as you want them to. I...

Re: \"springboarding\" a short-stack
If I've got a great hand and someone I think may be on tilt or has a moderately short stack (4-5bb) is to act behind me, I'll bet half or a little less of their stack so the betting comes back to me.

rjb,
No, I do not want a call, even from a hand that I am probably slightly ahead of. I want those 675 chips in the pot, that's it. I do not want a showdown. I dont want AT to call...

Re: $1k SNG Hand - Opinions?
What hands do you really want to fold preflop here? AA, KK, QQ, AK, AQ, and KQ? He's very unlikely to fold anything in this list except KQ perhaps. Any other hands you would want to call you. ...

Re: Hand 6: Am I being trapped?

When I'm called on the flop I'm worried and ready to shut it down to much more action. When it's my turn to act on the river I just can't see having a bet called by a worse hand. ...

Re: Requisite flop bet after PF raise?
Would you have bet more if you actually hit the flop? I assume the answer is yes. You bet less on the flop than you did preflop with a flop that doesn't warrant that action. In fact, not many do...
