Re: Limping QQ under the gun

the games were really tight. Lot of nutpeddlers. Now, initially this sounds like a game in which you want to be raising anything from any position, but there is another condition.

I was/am a...

Re: Limping QQ under the gun

I remember back in the day in the UB games raising anything other than AA / KK UTG could get you in a lot of trouble. Admittedly the stacks were only 100BB, but the texture of the game just made...

Re: 22

This is true. Other players don't think like we do. You have to not only read his hand, but also determine how he will play that hand.

If you don't have that kind of information on your opponent,...

Re: Your strategies to prevent yourself from tilt calls

You're a lucky man. Loose raises are definately infinately better than loose calls.

You have just perfectly described tilt. Call call call call call...

If I ever find a way better than losing 40% of my bankroll and then not playing for a month, I'll let you know.

Re: JJ meets half pot river bet

Don't think that would accomplish anything, in this case I think check calling the river is superior to betting at it, no draw landed that you want to block. You want a cheap showdown, or you want...

Re: WTF is with the 50NL??

No matter what game you play, you'll never win a lot of money from a rock.

I think I'm calling here, without a further read.

Re: KQo UTG

I don't Like open limping it here 6 handed. And I'd probably prefer making it 4 - 6 on the flop, and I pot it on the turn.

Slowplaying a made hand (especially one larger than a pair) to me on...

Re: If he knows that I know what he knows , 3rd level thinking..

In my opinion to beat a 3rd level thinker, you have to play a level 4.

I remember translating different levels once. Goes something like this:

lvl 1: I have...
lvl 2: I think he has...
lvl...

Re: Who\'s flush is bigger?

hmmm... I dunno. Don't think you have outs here. Just intuitive response, without a further read. Against 5 people calling your flop bet I just don't think my T high flush is any good here.

I...

Re: Baaaby flush - 6M 160BB decision

probably. Some kind of made hand. Set or 2 pair. Top pair with A would take a turn I think... not sure.

Be as it may, I call the all in.

Re: Simple situation

If his hand range for reraising is JJ+ you're going to be either a small underdog preflop or a big underdog.

Then without further reads there is the guessing games you play. Basically if you hit...

Re: Deep stack AA - 6 max

YOu think your opponent is the type to call preflop with a 3 in his hand? My experience is that these flop minraiser are usually just a hand. Even on scary boards like this. So I would think it helps...

Re: Last time was perfect, what to do now?

Funny, recently plugged a big leak in my game. Namely, the loose calls. Calling the river too often and calling raises too often.

There are definately times where you want to call the river, and...

Re: This is just appalling, right? (maybe lc)

In general, if you're going to raise with QJo, you want to maybe raise 2-3 BB

I agree almost completely with everything you said but this. You want to raise as much with...

Re: This is just appalling, right? (maybe lc)

[ QUOTE ]
2 people always calling is not the right spot. If they alway call, there's no point in "disguising" your hand because they obviously don't care.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean...

Re: Last time was perfect, what to do now?

Pot it on the turn and think hard about what it means that he bet the pot this time. I'd be more inclined to fold in your position.

Re: PP 100 NL 6 max: HUP KK, strong action on rag flop

even though I think what you say holds some merit, my experience is that a minraise is sooner a lock than anything else. Recently I'm not reraising minraises with a pair any more without a read of...

Re: This is just appalling, right? (maybe lc)

I find that your advice a bit tight for 6-max. Depends on what your style is of course, but I find that raising even troublesome hands like this in the right spots can be provitable.

Re: PP 100 NL 6 max: HUP KK, strong action on rag flop

I'd be inclined to lay this down without a further read. Basically he's representing a hand that has a pair beat.

I wouldn't rely on him having A9 or TT JJ (i've even once seen QQ limp call...

Re: does anyone raise this river?

YOu should raise this river. I had a situation just like this the other day, and I called the river. I hit the button and thought...wtf did I do?

Re: Results

I like your line just fine. I would raise a little more than $25 (probably around $40), however recently that seems to be fashionable. I can't tell you how often I get min(check) raised on these...
