Ok, is this just an absolutely ridiculous raise or solid? I keep losing my ass with two-pair. I CANNOT stop myself from doing this. Can anyone confirm or deny that I have a serious problem? I'm JohnWL23.
Sorry for no conversion, this was at Paradise, and no reads on this guy either. Yeah, I'm worried I suck too. Two pair is giving me serious trouble.
I've lost 4 buy-ins with two pair in the past 2 days. I told myself, I'd never do something like this again. Then the same situation happens, and... I DO IT AGAIN! I don't want to taint the play with the results just yet. I'm hoping for a bit of advice on how to approach two pair. Like, be pretty cautious if someone keeps showing aggression, treat them like top pair, or something along those lines. |

I think the problem is the preflop raise.
clearly you are not getting fold equity against hands like Kj, KQ preflop. |

Yeah that's another problem I'm wondering about. Should I not be raising these types of hands unless I get fold equity over tight players?
There were two players at this table that were always calling my raises. Every single time. How are you supposed to act at a table like that? |

don't raise these hands if you are getting called often and your continuation bets aren't working.

we had a thread about how to play sets in here a couple days back and i really think we need one on how to play 2 pair. 2 pair is by far the hand i have the most trouble with.

this is a very draw heavy board, without a solid read on what villains line means I don't see how you dont go broke here. I raise more on the flop and would only have raised preflop if I was first in.

Ok I don't play a ton of no limit but I am going to take a shot at this one street by street. First QJo is not that great a hand to begin. I would either limp preflop or fold to a raise, if I did raise it would be strictly to mix up my play. The reason for this is you are not getting alot of better hands to fold. AQ AJ KJ KQ are all calling the raise. On the flop you have to raise more. The turn is the worse card for you. Alot of players for some reason like to peel gutshots with A10 even in no limit, also you have to think about A10c here drawing to a flush. It also makes KQ KJ better hands than yours. In this situation I would lead for a half pot sized bet and fold to a re-raise. The problem I find with two pair in general is that usually your cards are close together i.e. QJ KQ 10J making alot of straight draws possible. Another problem I find with these low limit NL games is that people will draw without getting proper odds. This is good in the long run but in the short term it can seem like it is impossible to win. Overall I like how you played the flop, but I do not see why you are getting all your chips in on the turn. Two pair is good but don't fall in love with it. My 2 cents
