Re: some of you math people may appreciate this

Also, something like 13x19 can be made easy (16+3)(16-3) or 16 squared - 9. (247). When the average is not an integer, it still works but gets kinda messy. 17x22. 19.5squared - 2.5squared....

Re: Which would you prefer and why?

TPTK is better in my opinion, considering there is a lot of action preflop. This means that someone could be calling with KQ, AQ, AJ, or even A10 / KJ and pay you off in many situations. With AA,...

Re: Quick for you guys

I think it would be best to keep the denominator as 52,51,50, and change accordingly with what you had, so you can just see your chance before you know any advanced information (specifically what...

Re: QQ in BB - raise and call to you...

I would go for a reraise trying to isolate MP3 rather than playing versus DB as well. As long as no King or Ace comes out, check and let him hang himself hopefully.

Re: Tough flop decision

In this situation, I would give him credit for KK or AA. Either would be a tough situation to dig yourself out of (especially KK giving you no outs). At this point in the game, it's a pot that's...

Re: Flopped full house : Extract the most.

100% agreed. But, if the last card was a deuce, then all of this theory could be thrown out of the window. He may still have thought his 9 was good (which I'm assuming he had). But, a raise to ...

Re: \'Hurt\' Cards Probability

The three (or two) of the top pair out there is potentially a bad out if the board comes 10 6 4, because someone might play a K10 or A10 to the end with a board like that. This would give eight bad...

Re: Most lucky game?

Poker, when it comes down to it, is about the betting structure. Often times your rank in a poker tournament is determined early in the game, when the blinds aren't that high (or, in other words,...

Re: Draw to Royal - too tempting to pass up?

With about 1275 in the pot and only about 490 left, I think it would be the right move. This would put you pretty low but if you hit (which you did), you would be a huge chip lead. If you assume...

Re: Final table question.

I would definitely push, but that is easily superceded by your reads on players. Would they raise wiht a pocket pair like 7s or AQ, and even after that would they call? You said they were tight,...

Re: Boat Odds When flop Trips

Even if you pair your kicker, i.e. you hold JA and it's JAKJK, a single king will beat your jacks full over aces.

Re: A question that has probably been asked a million times .....

Out of the 47 cards left, 38 will miss for you, and if you miss on turn, then 37 out of 46 will miss.
(38/47)*(37/46)

Re: Raise the river?

Call. Maniac will reraise because of how the hand has gone, and obviously yo're looking for at best a split pot.

Re: Table talking on line

I try never to talk online, because if I do, people will usually try to talk to you. If you don't respond it can reveal the strength of your hand. Aside from the "NH" and "Nb," it is usually better...

Re: KK postflop play

In this tournament out of 400, there were about 80 left, and the blinds were at 2000/4000. My stack was about 150000 heading into hand and his was about 120000 (before the hand).

Re: Dead Cards in Razz?

If low cards are folded typically if you hold one of them it is a good sign of drawing something good. It also lessens the chance somone else has a 6 or 7 low.

KK postflop play

8 Handed and I am CO dealt KK, after I raise to 5xBB, the button and BB calls. The flop comes AK8 rainbow. The Big Blind checks, and I lead out with about 8xBB, hoping someone hit the ace well...

Re: Tournament Strategy Question. . . .

If you're stuck at an average table... your chipstack is as important as your play. If you get up early and build your stack, you can afford to play more hands (even without paying off lower...

What defines a bluff?

Hi, this is my first time posting on this site. I have read on another account for a couple of months and I've finally been annoyed with the people I play with. Playing for little over one year, I...
