Re: KQs making two pair.

I think you pretty much have to push at this point.

I'd be a little wary, if I had read any one of them for a set... but I think you don't have much of a choice but to push here.

I think your...

Re: Trust to the read

I gotta be honest here. This is an awesome and very true post.

When I first started playing live no-limit, I was scared as hell of putting all my chips in. I felt like knew when I was "supposed"...

1st off (preflop)... why play QTs 3 handed? I normally want like 5 or 6 people in the pot before I go in with QTs, because most often, I'm drawing to 3rd...

EV Question

This is a newbie sort of question, but I do have to ask it, as I'm a newbie. I've really only started taking Poker seriously for about a year.

What is EV, and how do you calculate it? I've seen...

Re: AK vs. JJ

"It's because with AK, you almost always have to make that mandatory preflop bet even when you don't hit."

Um... no. At least, not in NL.

I don't think there is a generalization that can be...

Re: Shutting up the Table Coach

Let the player believe you are sincerely sorry for taking the pot from him/her with something like:

"Oh man... I totally misread you there..."

And then proceed to let that person tell you all...

Re: Did I misplay here?

Now I get ya...

As I go over the hand, most of the reasons I bet the way I did were mainly "bleeder" bets, meant to inspire pushing from my opps (especially the huge stack, if he had the AQ or...

Re: Did I misplay here?

Can you explain a little further here?

I guess I can see how he'd have odds if I pushed on the flop, and it was folded to him... I mean, he's a 13 to 10 dog there... and he's getting more than .3x...

Re: $1/2 NL at the Tropicana - Show Your Bluffs?

My rule of thumb has always been, only show them if you absolutely have to. If you must (to prove that you won the hand), then you must... but otherwise don't bother.

Just my thoughts...

Re: Did I misplay here?

The buy-in does kinda suck, and there's been a lot of talk about getting the Card room to increase it...

Normal stack size there is from 200 - 400 though...

It's just one of those obsticles to...

Did I misplay here?

Alright...

Just to preface, this is NOT a bad beat story. I won the hand, I'm just more wondering about my play here...

So here's the situation...

Live Cardroom, $3-$5 blinds, $100 Capped...

Re: Implied Odds

Dom,

Thanks for your post here.

So essentially, 'implied odds' is an educated guess, on whether or not your opponenents will bet into you / call a later bet if you make your hand.

How often...

Implied Odds

I'm fairly new to poker.

I'd like to think I'm not a moron, but unfortunately, poker has proven otherwise more times than I'd like to admit. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

I've heard the term...

Re: Don\'t think you slid it past us, Fossilman.....

Fascinating how this post has gone from a question about the Fossilman calling AD's bets to a discussion of the Physics of color, Race, and on and on and on...

How far will it go? Will someone...
