Re: Protecting my BB with 65o
I very rarely play online, but I doubt if it is that much different. I lean towards the tight side, especially heads ups. That 65o routinely goes in the muck.

Re: Longer than you think
I think the point here is that it does not matter how good or bad your poker game is...it feels just as bad to the biggest fish as it does to a top pro. Humility is a huge asset to any players game.

Re: Coldcalling with QJs
If this hand is a regular part of your play, then yes, you are cold calling too much. You did get lucky with the suited jack. Hope you won it.
I tend towards the pump it or dump it camp. So what...

Re: Longer than you think
Thank you very much. This is the most honest and humble post I have ever seen on this forum. I too have been there. I know what it feels like when those thoughts of being the only one in the world...

Re: Fold flop?
Nope, fold preflop. Hell, if you are going to play at least 3 bet to force your opponet to hit the flop. IMO you destroyed your positional advantage by just calling (assuming you don't hit the flop)....

Re: Raise river?
quicker if you can manage it. Your only beats are KK, K9, K5 and AK. How likely are any of these hands? Not very IMO.

Re: Making Friends (Low Content)
Did you ever find out what a puce is? I'm too lazy to google it, but I will if keep thinking about it much longer. Great post BTW.

Re: Correct or incorrect free card?
In these nutty 20 games nowadays there is no way I can rule out an 8 in my opponets hand and I didn't want to run into any bulls**t raises if he did have an 8 and that we were most likely splitting...

Correct or incorrect free card?
First round of play in new 20/40 game. No reads, but seems to be the usual collection of loose players. Joint is busy as tournaments are in progress.
I have A /images/graemlins/heart.gif4...

Re: 30-60 party
Hero knows that villian knows hero doesn't have a 4 or 98 therefore heros only option is to check the turn. River check is also correct. It is the only way to earn an extra bet if hero does indeed...

Re: Moving up, whats my incentive?
My experience with the middle limit games in Las Vegas is that in general the locals are playing not to lose, the games are quite beatable. Easier than the SoCal games I normally play in. Which is...

Re: Q10 late limp?
Me, I muck this one, reasoning that I am the one giving implied odds with this one gap unsuited connector. Just doesn't play well multi-way even considering your position.

Re: Movin up??
Agreed. I was assuming full time at limits of 30/60 and up. And I will be the first to admit I am somewhat on the consevative side, as I acquired my money by working my way up from small limits. A...

Re: Movin up??
Not playing day-to-day has nothing to do with bankroll preservation. Over time the total hours will be the same with the same risk. I am NOT saying it is incorrect to play at the level you state,...

Re: weird AKs hand.
Getting 20:1, I call. A raise would not be out of line, but only if SB is unaware of what you are doing.

Murphy\'s Law
After two months of looking at 2, 3, 4, 5 and runner runner outs, I now have a much more intimate understanding of Murphy's Law. Just two from today's 20/40 game.
I have K...

Re: Movin up??
Live I wouldn't play any bigger than 20/40 with 30k as that happens to be exactly where I'm at. May be a tad conservetive, but for sure you won't go broke. 50/100? You will get broke.
