Spread Limit Hell
Here in Minnesota, they only allow limit games except in tournaments. In place of no-limit, some casino's offer a spread limit game like $2-$10 or $5-$30. Without thinking about proper strategy...

Re: Unsportsmanlike?
I got a little peeved just reading your post. That was a real dink move on your opponents part. Not illegal, but dinkish.
That said, in order to avoid tilt, I think that it's important to not...

Here's a long post by Mr. Sklansky himself that addresses this topic to some degree. The comments by Paul Phillips were very insightful.

Re: Bad push? but what if......
Because of his chips status any hand he chooses to play is a push/fold situation preflop, but what if his chip situation were different?
Suppose average stack? (25 to 35K ish)
or a monster stack?...

Re: Calling all number crunchers!!!!
Okay, Instead of actually doing some math, I cheated and put turbo texas hold 'em into no foldem showdown mode with ten players. I multiplied the number of hands seen by 100 (to 180,000) and...

Re: This is whats wrong with online SnG\'s
I would suggest trying the two table sng's. You start with 1000 instead of 800 and the blinds are timed. For the most part, the competition is the same as the 1 tables (at the $10 + 1 level), and...

Hey Orn,
About the same as the $8/$16 at Canterbury right? That's what I thought anyway when I was last there. Ram and jam all the way.

Pretty much. I think...

Re: Honeymoon planning/ Cardroom Locations
Wow, so many romantics on this forum.
You're all right, it would start off as "just a few hands" and end up being one week long game leading to a divorce.
I'll settle for snorkeling,...

Re: Bellagio 8-16
When I was there the 6-12 at Mirage played tight enough where a PF raise would steal the blinds, often. We had to teach some of the people what "chopping" the blinds meant because the situation...

Re: transportation to Canterbury from MSP
I'm pretty sure that Canterbury doesn't have a shuttle. Cab fare could be really steep if you got caught in rush hour. That area gets really backed up.
One possibility would be to find the free...

Honeymoon planning/ Cardroom Locations
I'm planning my honeymoon for early May and would like to go to a location that has a decent poker room.
No, Vegas is not an option, or AC or Reno for that matters. She knows that she won't see...

Re: Minimum raises...
Interesting post. I've used the min raise in 10+1 NL SNG's on PP. Early in the SNG, if there are many limpers and I am in late position or the blinds, I will min raise just to build the pot. I...

I've seen it more so in the B&M cardrooms where players can use their physical presence as well, but it is definitely a factor at times online. I think that there are people who include that kind of...

Table Trash Talk
I was still fairly new to the game when I went on a trip to Vegas and entered into a $120(rebuy) NL tourney at the Mirage. I hadn't yet learned the importance of stealing, so I would usually play...

I think that this all points out the problems with KQo and hands like that. KQo specifically has cost me several tournaments. Most of the books I have read point out to stay away from it except for...

I like the flop bet, but I would probably check/fold the turn. His call on the flop with that board really scares me. After he called your preflop raise I would think that he could have a set of...

Re: question about AKo midway through
I would re-raise all-in pre flop. Obviously, if he has aces or kings you are in big trouble, but the chances of that are pretty small since you already hold one of each. Plus you get to put him on a...
