Re: Horseshoe info

I haven't been down there yet since it re-opened, but just talked with a friend yesterday who was headed down there and had already been a couple of times.
Sats for the smaller tournaments aren't...

Re: Omaha8 in Seattle?

Hey Bernie

Unfortunately I think the last time I was in Seattle for a visit was over a year ago now. I'd like to go back and catch up with some friends and what not. Hasn't fit into the schedule....

Re: Vegas hand #4

I didn't say anything about capping the flop and I think this would be a big no-no. The way you played the flop you should just call the 3-bet and then bet into him on the turn when that safe card...

Re: Omaha8 in Seattle?

There used to be good Omaha games at New Sonny's down in Federal Way. Then it closed/sold to the Hideaway (Silver Dollar) and became the Hideaway II or some such thing. I never made it to the...

Re: Vegas hand #4

I really just wanted someone to show how tough players really make you squeeze bets out of them and control your actions.

Yes, exactly. This is a very important point and concept and it is also...

Re: Vegas hand #4

Your check raise here on the flop was ok, but with MP left to act after UTG, I would consider a bet here, inducing a raise by UTG in order to ensure MP's fold. The way it played out you were lucky...

Re: Vegas hand #1

I see nothing wrong, in fact this almost perfectly mirrors a hand I played just yesterday in the 15/30 at Bellagio. I had 77 in the BB. There was a limper and a guy in late MP raised. I called as did...

Re: Bellingham, WA Card rooms?

It's been awhile since I've been in Bellingham (went to WWU for my undergrad years ago). But I do believe all Bellingham has to offer the poker players is one or two small rooms with small stakes. I...

Re: *WSOP 18 Years on DVD*

I believe the "bullshit" is not in the existance of the DVDs. Yes, there have been sets made, I know someone who got a set as a birthday gift last year.
I believe the "bullshit" is the phrase, "this...

Re: Mad Cow Is Here

It's about damn time that an "official" case has finally come to light. Anyone paying attention and with any knowledge of the disease and statistics has known that Mad Cow has existed in the US for...

Re: NEW TERM --- \"PV\"

While I think "PV" sounds better, I believe it should actually be called "EP" since "EV" means Expected Value.

Re: Matrix 3 *spoilers*

I haven't been so pissed off at a movie in a long time. In fact this is probably the maddest I've ever been at a movie. I REALLY loved the Matrix. I thought the second movie was great for a "middle...

Re: Seattle area- Stepping up question.

When I lived in Seattle, I started my poker playing in the 3/6 at kenmore. I built my money up with a combination of that game and their monthly tournaments. When I moved up I tried all of the games...

That was quick. I got a response right away and just finished the money swap without a hitch. No need for any more replies.

Re: Looking for a change of pace. Anyone interested in OIC?

I've been meaning to put some money in at Party to try it out. I currently only play at UB and Stars. This looks like a great way to start off my account. I created an account at Party a long time...

Re: Correct strategy for miniblind structure games - help needed

I did point out that if you can get in cheaply you should limp in with a wider range of hands. You should only be doing this EP or MP though if you KNOW it is unlikely to be raised. If it is a very...

Re: Correct strategy for miniblind structure games - help needed

The biggest adjustment you have to make is to tighten up. But you should know this. Remember, blinds in a flop game are like antes in a stud game. The smaller the antes, the tighter you want to play....

Re: Bankroll Fluctuation

First, remember that the "300 BB theory" only applies if you are a winning player who wins at least 1 BB/hour. If you are new to poker, this may not be applicable to you.
Now, on to your...

Re: Online Bankroll and Cashouts- Bad money management? (LONG)

This is a very common occurance. Many online players have a tendancy to want to lock up their wins and often cash out too much, too often. It is closely related to the so called "cash out curse."...

Re: Party 10/20...grossly overplayed QJs

I'd have to agree with MajorKong here. I would check raise this flop virtually every time. I'll respect the 3-bet enough to call and see what the turn brings. On the turn I'm loving life, now I have...

Re: 10/20 hand

ahhhhh...
It's hands like this that make me miss the 10/20 at the hideaway. If only there wasn't so much smoke.

Re: To go pro or not, and where?

Consider these points when deciding whether you should "go pro" before deciding where you should "go pro."

You are young, in a potentially lucrative field with a good degree. I've been there...
