KTs and a turn check
Fairly new to the table, so no great read on 3-bettor--seemed rational thus far.

Re: KTs and a turn check
How about KJ?
I think he decided you didn't have the Q when you checked through the turn, so he was value betting his K on the river. |

Re: KTs and a turn check
It's tough to say since its HU and you have no read. I'll take a stab that he showed you AQ.

Re: KTs and a turn check
Well, since he is rational, he will most likely 3-bet preflop with:
99,1010,JJ,QQ,KK,AA, AK, AQ You are ahead of: 99, 1010, JJ You are behind: QQ, KK, AA, AK, AQ So, you are a 5:3 dog in the hand preflop. I think you played it fine here since you will be behind a majority of the time given this flop. Haupt_234 |

Re: KTs and a turn check
1st off, let me apologize for J10s - not exactly the best preflop hand heads up - especially since he was rational. i misread the preflop action as the flop action.
With that said, 99 makes sense. He wanted to 3 bet a coin flip putting you on overs. He puts out a feeler bet on the flop and you only call. Me thinks that he thinks you would have raised AK but called AQ, KK, QQ, KQ to pop it on the turn. He checks the turn expecting you to bet, you check, he catches his 9. Other scenario has him with AA or AK thinking that the call on the flop meant he was going to be raised on the turn and he was planning on check calling the rest of the way. you check off, and he suddenly realizes he is in front and bets for value on the end. So, if he has 99 and you raise the flop, bet the turn he might? lay it down. but that is the only one that I see going away. Otherwise, he did your value betting for you on his JJ 1010, AJ or you lost the minimum could be way off base on this one, but my $.02 |
