Everything is going pretty smoothly up to this point no major confrontation. Blinds are 100-200, I have 9500 when the hand started. I pick up JJ under the gun and make it 600 to go (oh, i just got picked off the last hand, nothing like bluffing into a made hand) anyway, seat # 2 moves in for 5500, seems to me he does not want to see a flop and I already made up mind I was calling, when out of the blue the button calls his all in. The buttton after calling has 2000 left which I have covered. Now what to do. Call, Fold or reraise all in.

Even if seat #2 puts you on consequetive bluffs or tilt (not a sure thing, IMO), the call by the Button makes it fairly likely you're behind here. Probably not behind 100% of the time, but enough that you can afford to wait for a better/surer opportunity.
Your stack is plenty healthy enough to continue play at this stage of the tournament. Doug |

I think this is an easy fold. Even QQ might be an easy fold. I don't like JJ 3 handed.

This becomes an easy fold with the button in there.

i agree it's an easy fold when the button calls. what do people think about calling the all-in if the button stays out of the way? i think it's probably still a fold.

Yeah it's probably a fold with the button out of there as well, but if I felt he's playing loose I'd strongly consider calling.

I would definitely call the all-in if the button doesn't come in. I've been shown 66 in this situation way too many times to fold.

I really felt that seat #2 was overplaying his hand and maybe thought I was tilting a little bit. I was ready to race but when the button called I folded. 88 for seat 2 and A K for button. 88 scooped the pot. I don't post often, but thanks for all the input.

i agree that calling is the way to go. last week i had this exact same hand heads up and the opponent went all in with 22(!) I think players see what happens on TV and get it in their mind that any pair is a favorite to two overcards, so when in this situation the automatically put their opponent on two high cards and go all in. it happens enough that I owuldnt fold JJ here heads up.

I'll chime in, and agree w/ the others.
Call if button folds, fold when button calls. |
