Default Anyone know the cardrooms in London?

Going to be over there next week. Wanted to try and get in a short session. I wanted to know where the casinos with poker rooms are. I will be staying near Kensington area.

Two choices either the Vic Casino or Gutshot.

Havent been to the Vic so not sure what its like, make sure you sign up for membership 24hrs before you want to play.

Gutshot can play as long as you join as a member, dont have to wait for 24hrs and but have to have either passpot or drivers licence.

The Vic I think is around Marble Arch so is the closest for Kensington, but gutshot is about 30 minutes on the tube near the barbican. Would be around £16 taxi back after.

Tak a look at te post below for details of the gutshot web address is www.gutshot.co.uk the vics is http://www.grosvenor-casinos.co.uk/G...ramesetIE.html can join online as well.

When I was in London about two years ago, I played at the Grosvenor Victoria casino on Edgeware road. Down the block from the tube stop on I think it was the Brown tube line (I forget the name of the line). You have to be a member, (it doesn't take much to become a member really, they just take down your info) wait 24 hours, and then the next day, you can go play cards.

The poker room is pretty nice. I'd say maybe about 6-10 tables (if I recall correctly). Most of the tables have dealers, but there are a couple of round self-deal tables, where the players alternate dealing. The games are(were?? I don't know if this still is true..but they were all pot limit when I was there) all pot limit (either hold'em or omaha 8...I don't remember seeing any stud). The lower caliber games are pretty soft, though I played with a couple of guys who I occasionally saw on the "Late Night Poker" show that they have over there on TV. It's a good time. I hope you have a good time, and happy poker.

Vic games are mostly PLO (high only), an increasing amount of hold'em, and a decling amount of stud (probably none at this stage, but not sure), all pot limit. The big games are all PLO.
