Default 20 dollar NLHE tourney hand

10 places pay out, there are 20 left, blinds are 100-200.
I post big blind and under the gun, an aggressive player, raises it to 600. All fold around to me, I have 400 left.
I have A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Is this a clear fold, or do I take my chances having only 400 left and the blinds ready to go up soon to 150-300?
If he has ane ace, obviously Im in trouble, but I have 1/3 of my money already invested...is it worth the call?

youngladyfriend-

If he has:

AA: you're smoked
KK-99: you're basically 0 EV
AK-AT: you're slightly -EV
88-22: slight dog but definitely +EV
A8 or less: you're way ahead getting great odds

The +EV situations are obviously the least likely (by far) given an UTG raise at a 10-handed table (even from an aggressive player), but I still call since folding and then posting the SB with a random hand is probably much more -EV than calling.

Later,
Che

I can't fold here. It's do or die.

it would be useful to know UTG stacks size, but I think with your stack size, you've got to push here and hope to double up. I think it's probably likely you're behind, but with the small amount of chips you have, there's not much fight left in you.

Push......you have to pay 100 for the next SB leaving you with only a call of the BB when the Blinds move....

I agree 100% with Che here. And let me add to that, the fact that you are going to be 1 on 1 here, where as with the SB random hand, you might be up against 2 or more players, thereby lowering your chance of surviving even more.

All in baby!

With 20 left I call this every time, and I'd probably call it with anything as bad as A2, KQ, KJ, and KT, (maybe even K3o ). Truth is I probably wouldn’t even look at my hand and just call blind. Your stack isn't going to scare anyone if you fold here, call and hope he has a medium pocket pair.

hey - I remember you...you ran me down at Canterbury...no advice for you. - advice kitchen is closed....

seriously...I'd be all in in a second - you're 1/3 pot committed - and almost no one else is gonna get stupid and get busted when you don't have the blinds covered for next round... -

all in and pray....you get an extra 7% odds for being suited - this is a clear all in for me...once you're 1/3 committed, you're best off going all in -
