Default AK suited late in NL multi-table tournament

I was playing 30$ multi table NL on Party. There were 935 entrants and top 100 paid. It was down to 50 players. The average chip stack is 18700, I have about 8500. Blinds are 1000/2000. I am in the CO position. I get A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. UTG raises to 5000, everyone folds to me. UTG has about 12000 chips. What should i do? all-in - considering I am short and don't have many hands? Fold - considering the UTG respect? Call - if I am feeling weak and gambling!!! ??
Please consider the fact that the real money comes in the top 10 positions only. The next level of payouts are only an incremental jump. Also please consider the overall situation - stacks, placement, position etc. when posting replies. I will post the results later

Put your chips in the middle.

Well, calling is definately out of the question. It's all in or fold, which depends on your read on UTG. Would he make this raise with AK, AQ, or QQ? Even if he has KK you have roughly 33% chance to win, and when you add upp the blinds you are still a little behind in chip EV. Still, I don't know any players who would make this raise with ONLY AA or KK, so I'd push.

Since you have only 4BB, I absolutely push all-in here. I have absolutely no regrets if I end up busting out on a coinflip.

I don't really feel like UTG raises are entitled to extra respect at this stage of a tourney, unless it's out of character somehow. You actually see a lot of steals from UTG because people realize they will get extra respect and take advantage of that.

There was a guy at my table last night who was raising EVERY round from both UTG and UTG+1. He actually built a pretty nice stack before the table caught onto what he was doing and busted him quite handily.

poolshark,
You are ITM, have only 4BB's left and you get dealt the 5th or 6th best starting hand.
Regardless of position, you have to play these cards.
You said yourself the real money is at the final table, you gotta get there somehow.....PUSH
BTW, Nice work getting there.
regards,
woodguy

At this stage of the tournament, it is usually an all-in fest. The raise to only 5,000, with 3,000 already in the pot because of blinds, looks to be a big hand that is looking for a caller to hopefully double up.

That being said, I would still hope that I am wrong and push in, you don't have time to wait for a better hand.

push, not even a question really. you're not gonna last long and you got to double through to survive to the bigger money. ace king suited is a fine place to start that stand.

I have factored in all the variables you mentioned.

I shove in and I don't think it's close.
