Default Anyone heard of \'levelsix\' on ebay? (chips)

http://stores.ebay.com/Level-Six_W0Q...enameZl2QQtZkm

LevelSix.com shows they're mostly a videogame accessory dealer perhaps just branching into poker. They seem to be really focused on quality, which is important for an 11.5g chip based on the wide variations I've seen reported here...or maybe it's just a scam to get their auction prices up (it's working -- all my ~$0.10/chip bids get majorly trumped). If nobody has any experience with them I'll send for a sample and report back.

Very quick (20 minute) reply to an email today. FYI:

Richard,

Thank you for your email.

Unlike others that claim they are the manufacturer, we truly
manufacturer our own chips. Therefore, we are constantly working on
improving them. Now, in regards to your questions:

The molds of our chips are extremely precise, especially when compared
to chips from other vendors. This means that they are all the same
thickness. We are aware of the problem where stacks of the same number
of chips will be varying in thickness (our first shipment was like that
- before we decided on making the chips ourselves). However, the chips
we carry do not have that problem.

The surface of the chips is one thing we are currently working on. The
surface is "slicker" than we want. Although a stack of 20 chips should
not slide apart from bumps, etc., you may want to test a chip or two
before ordering if the surface is a major concern. As noted, we are
working on this. The surface of the chips should be improved with our
next shipment, but it is not due for about 4-5 weeks.

Finally, in regards to the sound; this is the most subjective quality.
From our experience, we have not seen a composite chip that sounds just
like a 100% clay casino chip. We believe these chips are about in the
middle of what you are describing. The sound should be more "clay-like"
once we make the surface rougher. Again, we would much rather have you
test the chips since this is subjective quality.

If you want to sample two or three chips, that would be fine. Just
include a note with your sample request that lets us know that you want
to sample more than one chip. Obviously, you would not really be able
to test the thickness of the chips with just two or three, but you
should be able to get a feel of the surface and sound of the chips.

Subject: Poker chip questions

Glad to see there do exist eBay dealers interested in quality.

- How consistently do they stack? For instance would you guarantee that a stack of 50 reds was the same height as 50 whites?
- How slick are they? Can you build a stack of 20 and not have them slide off when you bump the table? I like a more "chalky" feel with 11.5g composites.
- Sound when hitting each other: more of a clay "click" than a metallic "clank" I hope?

I'm pretty close to you in NC so I may send for a sample, but obviously I can't test some of these things with 1 chip.

Thanks,
-Richard

Impressive, IMHO. Their auction pages are very well designed, for better or worse, making the final price quite high for eBay 11.5g's -- I haven't been able to win yet despite bidding up to $65 (+ $20 S&H).
