Default Time to retreat????

No information on CO.

Party Poker 10/20 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds, Hero raises, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO calls, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds.

Flop: (5.50 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, CO raises

How do you proceed??

You are getting 7.5:1 on your call and you have backdoor flush and straight outs in addition to your pair. Without a read on the player I would probably call the bet and see what hit me on the turn.

Looks to me like CO has a flush draw or bottom set - he probably would have re-raised with AA or TT instead of calling pre-flop, and is not likely to raise with a straight draw post-flop. I'd put him on the draw, call the raise here and see the turn.

If the Q falls, the play is obvious.

If another diamond falls I'd check and fold.

If anything else falls I'd bet out to deny the free card, and consider folding to a raise which would indicate he had the set all along.

I must admit, it's always hard for me to get away from QQ or similarly strong starting hands. About the only thing that pushes me off is an obviously made drawing hand. Otherwise I play it aggressively to the end.

I don't know that I would put him on a flush draw. What hands would he have called cold that would give him the flush draw that don't contain the A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] or the Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]? I gues he could maybe have KJs, but that is about it. Maybe I am giving 10/20 players too much credit. I don't play at that high of a limit.

I would put him more likely on something like AQ, AJs, ATs, or maybe 8's. I think checking and folding if a diamond hits is a mistake. If he checks and calls he will be getting 5.5:1 on his second nut flush draw. If you aren't going to play for the flush draw on the flop you should probably just fold.

No way I fold. This might be the rare time I stop-n-go since he could easily be raising a flush draw.

I would call and fold a turn that did not improve my hand. Too many people will raise A-something in this situation and there's not much point in trying to outplay him with a second best hand in a pot that's barely 4 BB.

However, if you're going to try it, you've got to checkraise the turn.
