Interesting hand tonight
I was playing a cheap buy-in multi tonight and this hand came up.
Hero is in SB with 8 5. three limp, I complete, BB calls. the flop comes 6 7 9 with two clubs. I have the best hand. I know it in my soul. I bet smallish and the race begins. Everyone wants to get their money in. I end up calling an all in. Of course I lose when the flush is made but I wonder, should I have felt so great about calling? I had the nuts. Everyone else was on a draw. I know a straight in Hold em isn't all that strong. But I had the nuts with a not-likely-to-be-dominated hand/flop. Should I keep this type of behavior up? Thanks. |

Re: Interesting hand tonight
8T is the nuts when you called.
Why are you calling half a blind with 85?? |

Yes, you had the best hand and got your money in what would you rather do? Get your money in with the 2nd best hand?

Re: Interesting hand tonight
Playing fast was the right thing to do, losing the nuts to a draw was basically a coin flip... If you know that you were going to get more than one caller though, you might be starting out with losing odds (like callers a stronger straight draw with suited clubs)
Though i'm not sure what all of that means, I'm sure someone will be able to explain it... |
