Default Foxwoods Poker Room ... I\'m under 21

I love to gamble - especially in a real joint where you are face to face with people. It's just such a more enjoyable experience then sitting on the couch watching a screen.

Right after I turned 18, I went to Vegas with my father. I'm rather tall, about 6'2 but very skinny as well. With a hat and glasses, I managed to walk into the Luxor Card Room (twice) and the Orleans and Bellagio cardroom and play at the Luxor and Orleans without any hassel. I even was able to order a few beers at the orleans (it's worth a shot!) and I got served. They never even batted an eyelash or asked for ID.

The bad thing is, I got ID'ed instantly whenever I went near the slot machines by the foreign security guards and cleaning people. That was really embarassing (sitting at the nickel slots wasting time) and being kicked off by some jerkoff security guard (it's their job I know!). I was also able to play blackjack at the Stratosphere as I befriended the pitboss and started to count cards.

I was in Vegas for a business exposition with my dad, the PMA specifcally so it wasn't a big deal for me if I was going to get kicked out of the casino. I was lucky and was able to play a lot of poker for the first time in my life in a real casino.

I live in New England however, so Vegas isn't feasible again until next year. Foxwoods, however, IS an option. The only thing I'm worried about it being ID'ed and then having wasted 2 hours driving there and then 2 hours driving home.

If you have ANY advice on how I can get in and play at Foxwoods or experience with underage players at the Foxwoods Cardroom or experience at the cardroom at all, LET ME KNOW! Are they strict? Nice? Friendly? Also, any ideas for an ID are welcome too. E-mail me at pokerdogs12@hotmail.com if you don't feel like writing here.

- Max....

Foxwoods is pretty strict in ID'ing people. Unless you have a great fake you are probably wasting 2 hours.

Having never seen you, it's about 50/50.

Like so many things in poker, it depends. It depends on when you go, it depends on how you're dressed, it depends on the secuirty guard on duty that time, it depends on how confidently you stroll in , it depends on who you're with...you get the idea.

Once you're on the gaming floor, you're home free. Definitely don't show a fake, if they stop you, pretend to look for it, say you must've left it in the car and try again in a few minutes.

Good luck.

I've never been carded at Foxwoods. I'm over 21, but still, it doesn't seem that they're overly strict.

There's one big black dude that always cards me otherwise I always get through with no hassle. Granted I'm 24, but I don't look exceptionally old.

I find that the "cop walk" can get you into almost anywhere. Just stride purposefully (not fast, but with a goal in mind) like you own the f*cking place. Dress neatly, but casually and DON'T LOOK ANYWHERE BUT WHERE YOU ARE GOING. If you get stopped, look baffled, pat your shirt, and shrug. You'll have to go back to your car for ID, then come back and try at some other entrance.

Exactly! Should you lack confidene in your "cop walk." I find that the "crip walk" can get you in most of the time. When they see you crip walk in, they might think you're in Mack 10, or X to the Z and let you right in.

I saw some kids playing at Foxwoods that I didn't believe were 18, much less 21.

I only showed my ID for my wampum card (what a waste of time) and I'm just over 21. I get carded about 50/50 in bars.

Default Not true

This definitely is not true. Its hit or miss, like anything else. I turned 21 about 9 months ago so luckily I dont have this problem any longer, but my buddies and I used to make trips to the woods all the time. Sure every once in a while we would get turned down, but even then we would just use a different entrance and we would be fine.

Even now, I by no means appear to definitely be 21 and I'm rarely ID'ed. The only place I'm ever ID'd are at the bars, which there really is no need to go to the bar since you get free drinks on the floor.

Best advice for a fake ID, get a friend of your's ID who is actually 21, even he doesnt look that much like you. I've had about 15 ids since I was 17 and a senior in high school, but from 19-21 I had the same ID because it was a real id, just not me. I got turned down from time to time, bu thtey would never take it because it was real and they weren't "sure" that it wasn't me.
