Default Poker & Personality Type POLL

Debate has been sparked by the essays
Poker and Introverts and Is There an Ideal Poker Personality Profile?

I suspect 2+2ers are on balance better than average players, and that the 2+2 population is relatively rich in winning poker players.

If so, the population is therefore good for an informal personality poll. The intention is to see if one personality type is over-represented in the ranks of (presumably winning-skewed) 2+2 poker players.

These players are, after all, presumably making a conscious effort to improve. Based on this premise, I presume many winners in the 2+2 population.

The whole process takes about 4-5 minutes. Do you know your personality type? Now would be a good time to find out

The test is here:

Take the short test and then participate in this poll by indicating your type:

Your Type is
INTJ
Introverted Intuitive Thinking Judging
Strength of the preferences %
100 56 89 78

You are:
very expressed introvert
moderately expressed intuitive personality
very expressed thinking personality
very expressed judging personality

Apparently my intuition is somewhat lacking
Seems to make sense logically though that introverted intelligent people would be better. At least in my own case I know I'm introverted, I always have been. I'm also very self analytical in most aspects of my life. I think being able to look at my own actions, emotions, (my poker game), etc, objectively I can make improvements based on my knowledge. Knowing I've already done this making emotional changes to myself based upon such analysis. I know I can do it for my game to, using the same methods.

(sorry if that made no sense, got sidetracked by the tv for a few minutes and lost my train of thought)

Good to see the NT's representing.

We're so much cooler than those stupid NF's, SP's or SJ's

Being an INTJ personality type, it easily makes sense to me that the introvert is the long-term winner. One who must dominate every social setting (the Extrovert), must also feel obligated to dominate the table as well. Poker is clearly an Intorvert game, as your thought process in order to make the decisions you do at the table is solely based on you and nobody else. Dan Mezick puts it perfectly, "Poker is the playground of the intelligent introvert." Power to the Intro!

Very interesting post Mr. Mezick. I do see I, at least at this time, am fitting in to the majority in the INTJ grouping. I was pleasently suprised after reading the description of INTJs how fitting it was for me. Again, a very interesting post. Thanks for investing the time and effort in to posting this. I certainly am going to do some more looking in to this on my own. Of course, I'll be sure to share anything of intrest that I can find.

Cheers

Of all 4 different options i think perhaps THINKING is the most important And then maybe a good intuition? At least that's what's popping out with these statistically insignifigant numbers we have here.

Oops.. I took the test again and now I'm ENTP. I remember the first time I took this, I was strongly INTP. Then the next time I was almost totally on the E/I border. Now I was 22% E.
