Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (7 handed) converter

Preflop: Wada is MP1 with 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. MP2 posts a blind of $0.50.

Flop: (6 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (6 players)

Turn: (8 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, Wada checks, Button bets, BB calls, Wada calls.

River: (11 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, Wada checks, Button checks.

Final Pot: 11 BB

Results in white below:
BB shows Ad Jc (one pair, jacks).
Wada shows 8s 9s (high card, jack).
Button shows Ts Ah (one pair, tens).
Outcome: BB wins 11 BB.

Was this correct to call - Im unsure with the pot odds and outs. I believe I was getting 7:1 pot odds on 8 outs which is something like 5:1 odds. So by calling on the turn it was a correct play with +EV right?

And this next hand was correct to fold?

Why did you check-raise the flop?

dont worry about the turn.

your flop play was poor. you had the pot odds to call your GSD(adding 1 out for runner flush), but raising makes little to no sense.

You have an inside straight draw and a backdoor flush draw. You do not have a betting hand. If you wish to continue in this hand (which is probably not advisable), you're going to want to go as cheaply as possible.

Ok...think I see what you guys are saying -by raising I was not giving myself the correct pot odds. I made it worse. A check/call would have been ok? or bet?

I suck at math, but how are you getting 8 outs.

1 for the back door flush, 4 sevens. Where's the other three?

Hand 2- fold preflop.

I did not consider the flush once the Jd hit on the turn. I calculated 8 outs after the turn - needed a 7 or Q to make the straight on the river. 7777,QQQQ = 8 outs.

Hand 1: What is the flop raise trying to accomplish?

Hand 2: Fold preflop, Call the turn.
