Playing 8-16 at the Bike, with 2+2er JimRivett on my left. The game has been about the tightest 8-16 I've ever played in, but it has started to loosen up a bit.
Folded to me in the CO, and I raise with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Only the BB calls. I've never played with him before. Flop: 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] BB checks, I bet, he calls. Turn: 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] BB checks, I bet, he calls. River: K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] BB bets, I raise, he 3-bets. What should I do? |

I've got to put him on AK, I'd 4 bet.

Whoa! You've never seen somebody slowplay a set/straight/flopped 2-pair turned full house like this? I'd just call the 3-bet against an unknown opponent. I don't think making it 4 bets here is +EV against an unknown.

good point, and I can certainly stand corrected, but in the game I play the most the party 15 - BB will put hero on a steal and think his 2 pair is good. Absent a read, I think that trip 6's is good here more than 50% of the time even after the 3 bet. I would certainly 4 bet if that's the cap, 5 bet cap and I'd have to think about it...
of course, I am open to disagreement... |

Calling isn't weak tight, its normal, although folding is.

My assumption was no cap. 4-betting becomes more appealing with a 4-bet cap.

You're correct, there is no cap in this game when heads up.

I called his 3-bet and he showed me AK. I was curious to see how many people would advise me to 4-bet in that situation. It's not the kind of play I typically make, but getting myself to be aggressive enough is currently my biggest challenge.
I wouldn't dream of folding to his 3-bet of course, that would be crazy. |

YOU CAP IT. What could he have, 5-6? There is only one more six in the deck... It's very unlikely he has KK, although anything's possible.

There aren't that many opponents that will 3-bet this on the river with only TPTK. I think your call was correct.
