NLH tournament hand
A friend of mine recently played this NLH hand at Hollywood Park. Please give your opinions. The blinds were 500-1000 ....UTG folds...player 2 makes it 3000 to go......everyone folds to my friend on the button who has KsQs. He has 5800 in chips and calls the raise as does the BB. The flop comes down Kd 6s 2s. BB checks....player 2 bets out 3000......my friend moves all in. BB folds ..player 2 calls. Player 2 shows a set of Kings....my friend misses his flush draw and busts out. Any opinions????

Re: this would get better feedback in the tournament section, but...
Against KK, your friend was slightly worse than a 7:3 underdog...
http://twodimes.net/poker/?g=h&b=Kd+...+Kc%0D%0AKs+Qs Against AKo, your friend was still a slight underdog to win that hand... http://twodimes.net/poker/?g=h&b=Kd+...+Kc%0D%0AKs+Qs Against AA, it was virtually a coin-flip... http://twodimes.net/poker/?g=h&b=Kd+...+Ac%0D%0AKs+Qs And finally, up against QQ, your buddy was almost a sure favorite (knock on wood) to win that hand... http://twodimes.net/poker/?g=h&b=Kd+...+Qc%0D%0AKs+Qs All in all, the odds were AGAINST YOUR FRIEND. I don't like the fact that he would call someone else's PF raise with over half his stack...it's an ALL-IN or FOLD situation before the flop. btw- did he ever put his "PF raising opponent" on a hand, or was he just playing his own cards?... Re: NLH tournament hand
Muck it pre flop. What could the EP raiser possibly have that KQ would be ahead of. The very best case is an under pair to the KQ which means your getting most of your chips in hoping for a coin flip. More likely, as was the case, you are way behind.
