WSOP Day 1 Hand
Marcel Luske is in seat 3, I'm in seat 8. For those who don't know, Marcel is a top NL player. His style is tricky/aggressive. He has me covered with about 20k in chips.
Blinds are 100/200 with 25 antes (I think that's right). Marcel open raises to 1000. I have 9500T and in the SB I pick up J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I folded. My plan was to avoid difficult decisions against good/great players and survive to day 2 with over 20k in chips. Comments? soda |

You may have been ahead, you may have been behind, but you definitely missed a chance to come away with a much more interesting story

Re: WSOP Day 1 Hand
I personally think that this is a time to either fold or re-raise for a further 3000 - for me I think I would have reraised and then played the flop. If you are popped back pre-flop then you can fold and not have too much damage done to your stack.
Good players can raise with crap as well as good cards. Congrats on getting there though. |

Re: WSOP Day 1 Hand
I like the option here, especially against a player like this, of calling and trying to hit one, you have plenty of time to recover if you miss and stand to possibly double through if you hit. (These kinds of players... yes I've played against him.. are more likely to double you than the fishies)
