Default 3/6 AJs in BB

Not sure if I played this OK or not. After looking over the hand I think I should have raised preflop, but other than that I’m not too sure. Both opponents seem like pretty typical players.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 calls, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, CO calls, Button folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Is this an automatic raise?

Flop: (6 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(6 players) </font>
<font color="CC3333">SB bets</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="CC3333">UTG 3-bets</font>, UTG+2 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, <font color="CC3333">SB caps</font>, Hero calls, UTG calls.

Turn: (9 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(3 players) </font>
<font color="CC3333">SB bets</font>, Hero calls, <font color="CC3333">UTG raises</font>, <font color="CC3333">SB 3-bets</font>, Hero folds, <font color="CC3333">UTG caps</font>, SB calls.

River: (18 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(2 players) </font>
<font color="CC3333">SB bets</font>, <font color="CC3333">UTG raises</font>, SB calls.

Final Pot: 22 BB

Should I have raised SB on the turn? Comments on the fold?

Thanks,
Aloiz

Hey aloiz:

I raise with AQs in this spot, but not AJs....but that is just me.

Give the flop action, I think the turn call is fine. I know that it sucks to lay down your huge draw when it comes back to you for 2 more (getting 7.5:1), but it sure looks like you are beaten badly. If you described these 2 as lags or maniacs, I do not fold. But you gotta think that if these are typical party 3-6 players, one of them surely has 88, JJ, or 86s and you are drawing dead or extremely thin.

Of course, I sometimes fold too much.

Wait, even if you're only drawing for a [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], you're getting 7.5:1 immediately (17:3 if you assume it will be capped by SB). Your odds for a [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] are 4.1:1! I think the pot is big enough that you should've called the turn.

EDIT: Ok, I forgot a second 6 fell on the turn. In that case, I don't think your fold was horrible...
