JTs in BB - not my normal play
Typical Party 2/4 (but slightly more loose and passive than usual). I probably had reads on some players, but I don't remember them. :-)
5 limpers, SB completes, and I raise JT spades in the BB. All call except SB. Flop (13 sb): Ac 4c Qd and is checked around Turn (6.5 bb): Ks I bet and get one caller in MP River (8.5 bb): 2h bet/call MP shows A6o and obviously MHIG. I was up $130 at this point and feeling sassy, hence the strange play. My thinking was that if I made a straight, I would get paid off big by players with big pairs. I checked the flop intending to call one bet or fold to two. I was pretty surprised when it got checked around. And of course the rest of the hand played itself. Am I totally out of line raising JTs in this situation as a rare alternate play? All comments appreciated. Rob |

Re: JTs in BB - not my normal play
I rarely dabble in such "sassy" plays, but I think it is fine at a table where your opponents will notice. This tends not to be the case at micros.

Re: JTs in BB - not my normal play
If there were a Sassy City, you would be the mayor and live in The Sassy Mansion right in the middle of Sassytown. In your spare time you would sail the Sassy Sound aboard your yacht, the SS Sassy.
That's gonna look really weird to people who don't get it. Also, check your option preflop. |

With 5 limpers is a thin raise with JTs a value play? I think you win more than your fair share here.
