Poker nadir

In my local paper there is a feature on the inside of both the front page and in the Sports section called Sound Off wherein all manner of comments called into the Sound Off phone line are published. Generally the level of intelligence and critical thinking exhibited by Sound Off callers leaves something to be desired.

Today for the first time ever there was a comment published in the Sports section Sound Off having to do with poker. The caller said (and I'm paraphrasing) "I don't care much about the silly game called poker that is being broadcast on TV now but it should be absolutely illegal for poker players to wear sunglasses when they play. You must be able to see the eyes of the other players." For some reason I found this comment so off-the-wall funny that the Diet Dr. Pepper that spewed from my nose made a very pretty pattern across the paper.
