Chris Moneymaker Blew all his winnings from last year\'s WSOP
A person i know was in vegas soon after moneymaker won the WSOP. He saw Chris playing blackjack for 10,000 a hand. Then after losing at blackjack Chris proceeded to lose all but about 500,000 at some high stakes poker. Apparently Chris left vegas with a little under 500,000. Has anyone else heard a similar story to this one. I've heard a couple people say its true.

Yep. Plus he is a total fish at poker. I played with him in a 10/20 game a Foxwoods a few months ago. Some people tried to tell me he was in Tunica on the same day, but they are just trying to cover for him. It was definitely Moneymaker. I'll never forget it because Elvis was also in the game.

Way off MaxPower, way off. That is not right. You were playing with one of his many impersonaters. Moneymaker was ACTUALLY playing in a home game with me and let me tell you he sucked hard. He lost all his winnings from the WSOP that night to me.

right, this is what i never get. personally i think the idea that he blew his money is totally bogus, but let's say hypothetically he did blow it all the rver next day.
who cares?!

[/ QUOTE ] Uh, Daryn, I hope you realize I was kidding. Elvis doesn't play holdem. I don't think Moneymaker is a fish. I was just making fun of the rumors about him. I do agree with you. If a great player wins 2 million in a tournament and blows it on craps the next day, he is still a great poker player.

oops, max you seem to have missed my point. i was responding to the original poster, not you. also, i'm not trying to say he's a great poker player, i'm just saying even if a guy goes out and hits the lottery for millions, but somehow blows it all, who cares. it's his cash.
