Im a long time viewer and a first time poster. Let me start off by saying thanks to all the "pros"(well your guys sure are alot better than i ) for giving out such good advice to people like me who need it. My question is this: I have just ventured in to NL cash games on party. I play the NL25 and i was wondering what is a good working bankroll to use at this level? thanks, sonata

depends a bit on your style, safely, 20 buyins should do this.. try searching the forum, has been discussed many times.

Dropping more than 10 buyins in that game would be pretty tough...

Here is what I did. Figure out the bankroll, (8 buy ins is good for me normally, I seem to do well), maybe you need more. But by in for the max that gives you a deposit bonus. I got a 20% bonus to buy into Paradise Poker a long time ago when I played 25 cent 50 cent hold 'em. I would probably only need $100 to play this and be really safe, but they will give out a bonus of up to $100 if you buy in for $500. You would just have to play 500 hands (which.. was going to happen, it always happens!) So, I bought in for $500, played my 500 hands, had them mail me a check for $500 and I was on a freeroll bankroll of $100 (plus any money I had made).
Good Luck! |

** 4 buy-ins if you're tight/conservative.
** 8 buy-ins if you like to go all-in on hands like TP or flush draw. ** 12 buy-ins if you're a LAG &/or don't understand odds very well. gl, RR |

Unless you learned how to play poker by watching the Celebrity Tournament on Bravo, I don't think so. If this was the last time our hero would EVER be allowed to deposit money into his OIC account, then fine, 4 buy-ins is pretty short. 10 would be a better "overall" number. But if he plays smart poker, I think 4-6 buy-ins would be enough to start building a bankroll...

I agree with Scrub here. I've had days where I was down 5 buy ins due to a few suckouts combined with a couple poor calls by me and finished the day break even or even up a buy in. It's pretty easy to lose a buy in or two if you are playing well and a player starting out is prone to lose his stack because of mistakes he's making.

Want to make something of it? scrub |
