Pee Wee
We had an amusing discussion of starting hand nicknames in our home game last night, and I was wondering if other people have funny starting hand names outside of the standard ones everyone knows. Maybe this is a pointless thread but if so, tough cookies.
We coined one I have yet to hear anywhere else and thus might try to take credit for: the Pee Wee Herman (JKo). |

Re: Pee Wee
Sure, but a lot of hands have more than one name. And the best names aren't just cognates of what you call the cards, IMO.

Re: Pee Wee
There are some sites that have different funny names for all sorts of starting hands...I can't find the thread though.
My fav. is J4= flat tire Why? Ask yourself "What is a Jackfour?" a flat tire |

Re: Pee Wee
Sorry, but you're not the first to think of that. I read somewhere that JKo was called "the bachelor" or something similar.

Re: Pee Wee
In my home game we've named some trash hands after players who have gotten lucky with them a few times. Similar to T2o being called the Brunson. For instance, one night my friend held Q2o against my 72o twice when the flop came Q72. Now Q2o will forever have his name in our game. (and don't ask me why I was playing 72o )

These are the two best I've heard:
QQ - Siegfried and Roy Q3 - San Francisco Busboy (queen with a trey) |

Re: Pee Wee
I use Siegfried and Roy all the time, it's one of my favorites. But I've never heard of the San Francisco Busboy before. LOL! I like it.

Re: Pee Wee
A coworker proudly exclaims K9 as big dog....
I have tried to explain to him that it really isn't that good of a starter.... Q3... an Actor from Chelsea... (Have to make it East Coast ) |

I've heard it called this in Texas for several years. Parallel development... |
