Default Semi-slowplaying JJ with a two-tone board


This is probably routine but I wasn't sure so I decided to post it. Anybody raise the flop here?



Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, Hero raises, CO folds, Button folds, SB calls, BB calls, UTG calls.

Flop: (8 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(4 players) </font>
SB bets, BB folds, UTG calls, Hero calls.

Turn: (5.50 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(3 players) </font>
SB bets, UTG calls, Hero raises, SB calls, UTG calls.

River: (11.50 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(3 players) </font>
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, SB folds, UTG calls.

Final Pot: 13.50 BB

I would have raised the flop. You're vunerable to overcards, so I wanna get the money in while I know I'm ahead. That and there are lots of cards that could come off that the SB isn't going to bet out on the turn or cards that you arn't going to want to raise on, so you missed out on the chance to get money in the middle

I agree. Raise the flop. What if a Q-A came out? Would you fold to a bet and call?

hrmm.. you decided to raise the turn right? what if an overcard fell would you still follow through with the raise on the turn? This is one of the reasons i always play my mid overpairs fast.

Waiting for the turn to raise is best HU.

There is already someone in between you that is calling, must mean he has a a draw or hit the flop, not in a way that makes him want to raise though. Raise the flop. Trap him. That way he will call rest of the way. Keep betting unless they raise.
