Default Help with my game?

I'm posting this also over in the Small Stakes forum.

I'm trying to get very serious about limit right now. I played 15,000 hands of 2-4 full table during the month of January (winter break). I'm starting my summer campaign today, so I had Daryn come down and look at my pokertracker from the winter campaign.

I'm beating the game, but not by much. Daryn says I should make this post to ask the experts to evaluate my game...

Stats: Partypoker 2-4 Winter 2004

Total Hands: 15,943
Vol. Put $ In Pot: 13.92%
Saw Flop All Hands: 20.43%
" " Not A Blind: 13.32%
Folded SB To Steal: 89.55%
Folded BB To Steal: 91.78%
Folded BB To Steal HU: 89.74%
Att. To Steal Blinds: 13.41%
Won $ When Saw Flop: 26.50%
BB/100h: 0.96
Went to Showdown: 25.97%
Won $ at Showdown: 57.68%
Raised Pre-Flop: 6.11%
Limp/Call Reraise PF: 0.01%

FIRST ACTION ON FLOP AFTER PF RAISE--
Raise: 7.60%
Bet: 54.31%
Call: 4.52%
Check: 17.86%
Check/Raise: 0.72%
Fold: 6.88%
No Flop: 7.60%

AGGRESSION FACTOR--
Preflop: 0.66
Flop: 2.54
Turn: 2.56
River: 2.39
Total: 1.38
Folded To River Bet: 50.99%

WHEN FOLDS HAND?--
No Fold: 8.27%
Pre-Flop: 78.95%
Flop: 8.51%
Turn: 3.07%
River: 1.19%

Check Raises: 0.99% (Flop:42.50%, Turn:55.00%, River:2.50%)

St.Dev/100h: 15.2742BB

BB/HAND BY POSITION:
Button: .07
1: .09
2: .04
3: .03
4: .08
5: .08
6: .07
7: .08
BB: -.21
SB: -.12

That's all the pertinent stuff I thought to include. Let me know if there are any other stats I should post to be analyzed.

As you can see, I'm winning, but very little. Common sense tells me I'm not being aggressive enough pre-flop, and I'm folding my blinds WAY too often. If anyone can elaborate, that would be great. Thanks guys, I will appreciate all responses.

These numbers all seem high.

This number is too low. It should be closer to 30% I think.

All your other stats look good to me. I think maybe "went to showdown" and "won when seeing the flop" are a little low but not unreasonable. This (along with the high folding percentage when people try to steal) leads me to believe that maybe you are folding too often when you possibly have the best hand.

I would agree that the V$IP seems a bit low, and PFR is also. How much higher it should be though would depend on the texture of the games that he plays at.

I would expect stats from someone who frequents Stars 2/4 to be far different from Party or Pacific 2/4. In fact, I'd love to see a comparision of someone who plays both tight and loose sites of stats like V$IP, V$SB, PF raise %,etc. If someone has large enough numbers to offer up a side by side look at how that changes with different types of games I think that would be well worth looking at.

Can anyone find the famous MsSunshine post that explains the meaning of PT Stats at length? I tried searching but got nowhere.

You're playing too tight for that game. I think you could be up to about VP$IP = 18% in this game.

Your small blind defense is OK but you need to defend your BB more. Work on three betting from the SB and BB with marginals like AT and KJ when people are constantly trying to steal from you.

Your pre-flop raise should get up to about 8% if not higher. Especially when you are playing that tight you need to be coming in with raises when you do.

Vol. Put $ In Pot: 13.92%

Too low, as has already been mentioned.

Folded SB To Steal: 89.55%
Folded BB To Steal: 91.78%
Folded BB To Steal HU: 89.74%

The combination of those two sets of stats alone is lethal. Your bleeding away any profits you make by dumping your blinds.

WHEN FOLDS HAND?--
Pre-Flop: 78.95%
Flop: 8.51%

Your folding preflop or on the flop almost 88/100 hands. Your obviously playing tight.......too tight. If these numbers came from one or two sessions I could understand, but over the course of 15K plus hands?!? What Hand Groups are you playing? It also seems to me you give up way too early on the flop.

Increase the range of hand groups that you play(with position of course) and be more aggressive with protecting your blinds. I think those two steps alone will increase your BB/100 by almost double.

Just my thoughts,

Husker

I never played 2/4 on Party, but your stats indicate that you're weak tight. Your VP$IP should be closer to 18% in that game. Work on getting your PFR to between 8% and 10%. You fold your BB to steals way too much, especially to heads up steals. You're also not going to showdown often enough. Finally, checking 18% of the time after raising preflop is way too much. You should be betting 90%+ of the time after a preflop raise. My guess is that you're raising with AK/AQ/whatever, missing the flop, checking, letting people take shots at you, and then folding.

For an experienced player I would say it's a few % low, but an inexperienced player without high post-flop skills should have a lower VP$P, and PFR(IMO, but I could be wrong), but his W$SD is better than mine so he seems to be playing postflop well(or he plays alot with the same players and they shut-down when he plays).
