Default New Origin of Baseball Discovered

NYTimes article:
Now Pittsfield Stakes Claim to Baseball's Origins

This is 3 decades before the previous earliest domument about baseball. 1791 is back when George Washington was president. (Abner Doubleday was born in 1819)

Is it time to tear down Cooperstown, and move the Baseball Hall of Fame to Massachusetts?

Baseball descended from the English game of rounders, so it's very likely a form was played in the colonies even before 1791. The Doubleday story has long been discredited as a myth.

Why not? Surely seems logical.

Basketball, Volleyball were invented here.

Even the idea of the Union was.

Peace,
