Nice fat draw headsup.. but he\'s betting.
Shorthanded Party $50.
Folded to a aggressive and slightly moronic SB who limps. He has $80 and I have him covered. I check with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], which I think is pretty straight-forward against this sort of player. The flop is 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. SB comes out with a $5 bet ($2 in pot). I call. Turn is 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. He bets out for $5 again, and I raise to $13. He calls. River is 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. This time he bets out for $10 and I raise to $24. I sure am a fan of those faggy little raises. Thoughts? |

It's called a value bet and I like it! :grin

Nah he had some random 9.
I was just wondering what people thought of the flop call. |

I like it because of the potential for a big pot if you hit the nut flush on the turn with him betting out like that.

Re: Nice fat draw headsup.. but he\'s betting.
The problem on the flop is that you usually aren't getting very good implied odds, since he may have jack. If he's the type who will pay you off with nothing when a third diamond hits, then by all means just call. Otherwise, raise the flop while your hand is still a monster. If he comes over the top, there's no shame in gambling.
