Inside the Poker Mind - 2 THUMBS UP!
Just wanted to thank Mr. Feeney for writing a great book.
I'm sure I've already got enough information out of this book for it to pay for itself, and I'm only 35 pages into it. All I can say is, if you've read HPFAP a few times and are looking for something else, try this book first. It really filled in the gaps for me and covered some topics that I had somehow not yet absorbed. I couldn't be more satisfied with it. |

I have to add my kudos to this book as well. Along with Poker Essays (All 3 Volumes), this book has been an excellent supplement to my reading material.

The best parts of Feeney's book are in the beginning.
Nonetheless, I wholly agree. Feeney's book was great, and well worth the money. |

\"two thumbs up\"
I'm sorry to nitpick, but this is something that really bothers me. When Ebert and Roeper say "two thumbs up", it doesn't mean that they think the film is exceptionally good, just that they both recommend it (perhaps marginally). Each reviewer uses only one thumb.
If you are one person, then using the phrase "two thumbs up" perverts the whole concept. |

Re: Inside the Poker Mind - 2 THUMBS UP!
Hey, thanks for the nice comments guys. POP is generally aimed at a newer player than my book. It provides a clear, systematic structure for categorizing and understanding opponents (and yourself) which should be very useful to a less experienced player. My book is a collection of assorted essays on various topics, from psychology to strategy, generally geared toward players with some significant experience, but with some material that is accessible to newer players as well.

Re: Inside the Poker Mind - 2 THUMBS UP!
I am currently about 2/3rds of the way through "Inside the Poker Mind" and I find it to be a great book. I was wondering if anyone here could give me a list of books , in their acending order, (from beginner to expert), which a person should read if one were to wish to become good enough to play with the big boys? I would really appreicate anyone's and everyone comments on this.
Thanks you. <font color="blue"> </font> |
