Why dont black people play poker?

Just curious why whites seem to make up a very large majority of the poker playing pool in comparison to blacks.

I would say at my local card barn the percentage of players that are black is consistent with their percent in the local population, through all limit levels.

the reason there are fewer blacks than whites playing poker could be that there are fewer blacks than whites in the country, or that the average black guy has less money than the average white guy.

most hockey players come from canada or over seas, those that come from the states are in the northern most areas, which statistically have less african americans. Blacks also have lower incomes and cant afford the expensive equipment that it takes to play hockey, and often opt for more economical sports, such as football or basketball.

This is some ignorant sh*t. I played for about 5 years in Emeryville, CA at a place called the Oaks. Why don't you show your squid-head over there and see if you can get an answer.

I forgot you were a demographics expert. If you look above, some other posters have pointed out the ratio of players (of all colors) seems to comport with their respective population ratios.

Your empirical evidence depends largely where you play.
