Default Commerce trip report

I was headed down to San Diego over the weekend to visit some family and check out the new Petco Park. I was not expected at any certain time, so when I got near Commerce around 4:00 pm Friday, I thought what the heck and pulled in.(I told myself that it was to avoid the traffic, but it actually wasn't that bad.)

I took a walk around the casino and was pretty impressed. Very nice, compared to what I'm used to here at home, and spacious. I wondered past the blackjack and pai gow area first, then ended up what I could determine to be a fairly new tournament poker area. They were spreading the big games in that area, so I was just passing through. I then found what I would call the original poker area. Nice space with plenty of games, but there should be an upgrade to how they fill their games. Whenever there is an open seat, it is yelled to one person, who tells another, who tells the board person and yata yata yata.

Anyway, played a little 3-6 while I was there. The game was great, very loose and passive. There was one Asian guy who would raise quite often (with subpar holdings), and each time he did half of the table would start complaining that he shouldn't raise. Eventually, he stopped raising and then got a table change. I could honestly say that there was not one good preflop player there, and maybe one average postflop player. But of course, the poker gods were not smiling on me. Didn't have much to play and took a few bad beats, ended up down $90. I was looking for the LA poker players/posters (Josh W., mikel, etc.) even though I have no idea what they look like. The next time I go, I will have to plan a trip instead of it being spur of the moment, that way I can meet some of you. Thanks for reading.
