Default re: JJ and TT- How to play PF???

I've had the worst luck with these starting hands lately.
Factors I'd like to consider are: Tight/Weak table play and position.

In the blinds I tend to limp with them and hope to catch a set.
Early position- I've played them hard only to have a QQ or KK slowplay behind me. Check at the turn- and then bet the river only to get re-raised and beat.
Late position- If there aren't any raises- I'll raise 5 or 6BB to keep only 1 or 2 players in. I get a better read for the table when teh overcards come- which they always do...and then i try to bluff it or get out.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

I would gladly help you out with your poll.

But JJ is typically a hand that I would say is situational. It all really depends on the texture of the table, and what has happened in front of you. Same goes for TT in my opinion. It also depends on whether it's shorthanded or not, and what the action's been like.

Sorry I can't be more specific.

with a hand JJ or TT you want to either play it against a lot of opponents or heads up, or three handed at most. youre preflop play should be the one that is most likely to get you into one of these situations. if you have a lot of opponents youre basically playing the hand for set value and if overcards flop (and a lot of times when they dont) youll prob have to fold. if youre heads up they are a lot more touchy when overcards flop and judgement and experience will have to be youre guide

I too am still working this out. I normally go extreme. Limp looking for a set, or making an enormous raise. If people are calling all-in with garbage a lot of the time I'll just go all-in preflop, especially if I'm in late position. Even more so if a maniacal player has raised in front of me with no callers.

same here-
limp for a set or bluff as a high pair- depending on table.
and i agree about watching for the short-stacked maniacal player looking to double up with a KQo.
