30-60 holdem, 7 players, i am on the button, and to my right sits a guy who has somehow low (preflop and postflop) raising standards!
i got pocket 3's, 2 players limp in and the cutoff raises, i call so do the blinds(they always do) the flop: 642 rainbow, all check, the cutoff bets and I raise in the same second, the rest of the field folds and the cutoff calls me(he would have reraised me with an overpair) the turn: a Queen hits the board and he thinks about 3 seconds and bets, i call him. the river: the booard pairs with a 4, he bets and i call(because i had the feeling that he wanted to buy the pot when he thought too long about betting) i call him and he shows me AKo! i win the pot and he tells me that i made a bad play with calling him down! should i have raised him on the turn? all comments welcome |

i don't see any value to raising the turn. if you get 3bet, you're forced to fold a hand with outs. you're still putting in the same amount of money as calling/calling the river, and you still have the opportunity to fold if an ace or a king drops and you believe he hit it. if he's bluffing with a much worse hand, do you want him to fold?
