Screwed up every street!
It's a full 6-12 game; I'm in the SB. Folded to a M/LP player who limps in. I complete with 8d5d. The BB raises, which he would do here with many holdings... I think that he views both the limper and I as weak-tight. He thinks he can outplay us. He may be right.
The flop is 532r. I check considering a check raise. It checks around. The turn is a J putting a flush draw out. I bet and the BB raises. Limper folds and I call. The river pairs the 5 [532-J-5]. I check with the certainty of check-raising, but the BB checks behind. He shows a jack. I win, but deep inside it felt like "I suck". |

Re: Screwed up every street!
PF: 3-handed with an aggressive opponent behind you, you should just muck this. even without an aggressive opponent you should muck
flop: check-raising here is terrible unless you are 100% sure that BB will bet. if it gets checked through, this is a disaster turn: fine river: the reason to bet here is because he might've been raising the turn in an attempt to get you fold. he already surprised you once by checking when you expecting him to bet, and you don't want this to happen again side-note: he might have picked up a tell on you when you check with the intention of raising. you might want to ask a friend to watch you to see if you're giving it away. he made 2 great checks on this hand that an aggressive player will usually make. |
