$2 No-limit hand
I play a fair limit game on extreme micro limits, but I have basically no clue when I play the $2 No-limit tables at Paradise. Here's an example. How should I play this?
Paradise Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.01 BB (8 handed) converter BB ($4.32) UTG ($1.78) UTG+1 ($3.26) MP1 ($8.14) Hero ($4.20) CO ($3.28) Button ($4.52) SB ($3.09) Preflop: Hero is MP2 with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.01. <font color="CC3333">UTG raises to $0.04</font>, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises to $0.1</font>, CO folds, <font color="CC3333">Button raises to $0.16</font>, SB (poster) folds, BB folds, UTG calls $0.12, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises to $0.6</font>, Button calls $0.44, UTG calls $0.44. Flop: ($1.83) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(3 players)</font> UTG checks, <font color="CC3333">Hero bets $1.2</font>, Button calls $1.20, UTG calls $1.18. Turn: ($5.41) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(3 players)</font> <font color="CC3333">(All-In) bets $2.4</font>, Button calls $2.40. River: ($10.21) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(3 players)</font> Final Pot: $10.21 <font color="#990066">Main Pot: $10.21, between UTG, Hero and Button.</font> > <font color="white">Pot won by Button ($10.21).</font> Results in white below: <font color="white"> UTG shows 8s Ts (one pair, eights). Hero shows Kc Ks (one pair, kings). Button shows Ad 4d (straight, five high). Outcome: Button wins $10.21. </font> Is it just incredibly bad luck that he was on both a flush and straight draw, thus giving him implied odds? Should I think ahead and bet less on previous streets so that I don't inadvertently give him odds to chase? |

Re: $2 No-limit hand
im not a NL player, but i would be making much bigger preflop raises to try and get my whole stack in preflop against AK/QQ/JJ or some junk hand that will call you...

Re: $2 No-limit hand
Go all in on preflop when you were reraised is probably the best move.

Re: $2 No-limit hand
But would that be the result? Wouldn't they just fold? My thinking is that I actually wanted money in the pot. Is that not correct? Or should I assume that since this extreme micro-limits, my opponents are maniacs?

Re: $2 No-limit hand
Try posting this in the PL/NL forum. You're likely to get replies from more experienced NL players than in this forum.
Also, you might want to include what happened to UTG on the turn when you repost this. |
