Flop raising
$30/$60. Couple sane limpers and a sane raiser in LP. I 3-bet from the small blind with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Over-loose preflop, but very good and tough postflop player who thinks I'm a "superrock" calls 2 cold in the big blind. Both limpers drop and the original raiser calls.
Flop is 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. I bet, BB raises, LP drops, I 3-bet. BB 4-bets. I 5-bet. BB 6-bets. I 7-bet. BB 8-bets. I shut down at this point even though I'm pretty sure I know exactly what his hand is. I get in this situation often against a few players here and I almost always shut down on the 8th bet on the flop with one pair out of position but I'm starting to think its a mistake, I think putting in one more would probably end the "nonsense" so to speak. Anyone agree? |

Re: Flop raising
If he thinks you're a superrock, would he really make it 8 bets with anything other than a set?
BTW, I read somewhere you were banned.... |

I'm lost too. Why can't he have a set again?

Re: Flop raising
So, you want to go to battle w/ one pair against a tough player who thinks you are a superrock and thus puts you on a very narrow range of hands here yet doesn't seem to care? I don't get it.

Re: Flop raising
He's got 7h8h, or something similar. I'm almost dead sure.
He'd have called one of your bets and raised the turn with a set, especially top set. Non-top set, even if it were inclined to play super duper fast would either back off and raise the turn, or be worried about 99. He shows zero fear, which means he has a bajillion outs. |

Re: Flop raising
I certainly give up a lot of equity if I shut down when he 8 bets me and the turn is a black deuce and it goes check check. What I'm saying is HE will shut down when I 9 bet him.
I know, its likely all rather silly. |

Re: Flop raising
I prefer a single turn bet as a big favorite to 9 flop bets on a coin flip, but I'm weird that way.
