Help Tunica to Memphis directions

I will be going on a business trip to Memphis soon. I'm thinking of staying at the Grand in Tunica instead of the Mariott in Memphis (Grand is $60 a night cheaper). Want to get a lot of poker action in on this trip. My company is on East Raines Road in Memphis - about 0.5 miles west of Getwell. I'm looking for the best route from Tunica to East Raines Road Memphis at about 7:15AM.

From Tunica I can go 304 east to 55 North to East Shelby to Getwell to East Raines

Or I could go 61 North to 240 East to Getwell to East Raines

Which way is better ? and How aggrevating will this morning commute be ? Thank you in advance - Rick

Since you seem somewhat familiar with the surroundings...

DO NOT go all the way down to 304. That's the long way--a lot of driving south when you want to go north.

I'm not that familiar with Memphis, but if I-55 will get you where you want to go: Take 61 North to 302 (Goodman Rd), and take THAT to I-55. I'm not awake at that hour, but I'm sure traffic will be heavy. But this is the simplest way to I-55.

If you're VERY familiar with the area....take 61 North to Church Rd (you'll see an airplane hangar on the corner; turn right). This road is the fastest way to I-55. Speed limit is only 35, but not nearly the traffic you will find on 302.

Sorry, I have no idea what traffic is like at that time of day. And I'm not familiar enough with Memphis to give you an insider's edge.

Yes, take HWY 61 North +/-10 miles to Goodman Road (a.k.a Hwy 302). Go East another +/- 10 miles to I-55 North (you'll pass Hwy 301 and Hwy 51). Once northbound on I-55, take the 2nd exit (Shelby Drive), then east about 5 miles to Getwell then North about 3 miles to Raines.

i used to live on church road.
cops a-plenty so watch your speed if you take this route.

302 (goodman road) has a lot of lights but is probably your best bet to get over to I-55.

seems like you're trying to get over to the other side of the city (i'm still learning my memphis streets...sorry).

by 7:30am much of I-240 is slowed up by accidents and the morning commute. i'm not driving at that hour typically...but sometimes i'm watching or listening to the morning news and the traffic reports always are reporting slow-goings on the east-side especially. there's already construction on parts of those roads.

not to mention that you'll be driving east and directly into the bright sun-rise. ouch!! i just hate that.

okay....i looked at it a bit more and know where you're going a bit more.
you won't be heading into the real traffic-probs on 240.

you could actually take 302 (Goodman) past I-55 all the way to Airways (about another mile or 2) and take Airways north to whatever road will get you there (does Getwell intersect Airways??? i cant remember anymore...but you can look into it).

you're looking at 45 minutes minimum.

also....traffic on Goodman can be pretty terrible by 7:30am also.
i know that it's terribly slow between 4:30p and 6:30p.

sorry i cant be of more specific help but i wanted to offer a couple of observations.

if you make this trip in less than 45 mins i'll be impressed.
